Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians an important match

May 26th, 2008

Match between Rajastan and Mumbai is an important match for Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi.

How?

If mumbai win, all three teams have to eagerly wait for next matches.

If Mumbai loose, delhi are sure to reach semis. And chennai can still be in semis even if they loose their last match and Mumbai wins against Bangalore as both Mumbai and Chennai will sit at 14 points and one of them with better run rate can go to semi final along with Delhi.

So while Mumbai will play and pray to win against Rajastan, Chennai and Delhi will pray for Mumbai’s loss.

Who will reach semi finals in IPL?

May 26th, 2008

With Just 4 matches to go, it is almost clear for 5 teams about the semi final status.

While Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab have already made it to semi finals, Deccan Charger, Bangalore Royal Challengers and Kolkata Knight Riders are out of the first edition of Indian premier League.

Now it is between Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Dare devils to decide who the other 2 joing Semi finals. While Delhi has no role to play and are sitting with 15 points, it is for chennai (1 match left -14 points) and Mumbai ( 2 matches left - 12 points) to decide the fate of themselves as well as that of Delhi.

If Chennai wins against Deccan charges, they will enter semis. If chennai loose, they have to hope that mumbai should loose both their matches against Bangalore and Royal Challengers.

If Mumbai win one match and Chennai loose the last match, then Delhi will enter semis and on net run rate either chennai or mumbai will enter semi finals.

If chennai and mumbai win all their matches ( total 3) , then Delhi will be out of semies.

Exciting, isnt it?

Kolkata Knight Riders all set to win the opener

April 18th, 2008

Brendon McCullum’s super century helped Kolkata Knight Riders set an imposing target of 217 for Vijay Mallya’s Royal Challengers in the IPL opener.

It was almost a one man show where McCullum scored 75% of the runs at will to reach his unbeaten 152 in just 72 balls at an amazing strike rate of 211.

It is most unlikely that this target is achieved. If that is done, it is not a long way that test and ODI is out of cricket map.

Bangalore Royal Challengers team: Dravid, W Jaffer, V Kohli, JH Kallis, CL White, MV Boucher, B Akhil, AA Noffke, P Kumar, Z Khan, SB Joshi

Sehwag and Kartik set to open Perth test

January 12th, 2008

With the blazing knock of 113 in just 78 balls Sehwag is all set to open in the 3rd test to be played in Perth. With his 97, Dinesh Karthik is all set to partner him for the openers slot.

Out of form Jaffar and Yuvraj Singh are most likely to make way for the duo.

This should also boost the chance of tourists to win the 3rd test against morally low Australians.

Aussies know Indians ca beat them

January 12th, 2008

After the dubious 2nd test match which proved that Indians can beat Australia in Australia.

If one looks at the body language of the two teams, one was certain that Australians were too afraid of a defeat. I do not think they can keep making history unethically.

I do not think Harbajan would have racially abused Symonds in any standards. Even if had called Symonds a monkey, it will be more in the sense of kid fighting. We in India can see kids (and even elders) calling others a cat, a dog or a monkey in sportive spirits. It is a very light sence where Indians make fun of thir friends comparing them to these animals.

May be Symonds issue is used by Australians to pressurise India to play a below par game.
